A customer at a New Jersey McDonald's wasn't too pleased when he saw FOX News playing on the store's television, reports Zak Koeske at the FairLawn-SaddleBrook Patch.

Craig Lechner was at the McDonald's with his 3-year-old daughter to get her a Happy Meal, and when he asked the owner, Sebastian Lentini, to change the channel, he was quickly rebuffed, according to Koeske.

Fuming, Lechner reportedly confronted Lentini about it.

"No you listen, I'm asking you to turn it off," Lechner said as he videotaped the argument. "OK, well that's fine you're the owner of this McDonald's right? I can't wait to put this on the — in Huffington Post. Here you go. Talking about war in the news and this guy don't want to turn it off."

Why'd he get so riled up?

Lechner explains to the Patch that he's a liberal, but the issue wasn't political. He wanted to keep his two children away from the tough realities of the world. Lentini says that he shows a variety of news stations in his restaurant — not just FOX.

"I intend to keep my kids innocent for as long as possible," Lechner tells the Patch. "So of all places, why is McDonald's putting me into a position where I have to explain to my son what a 'serial killer' is or why people on TV are arguing about the meaning of 'rape?'"

By the way, McDonald's doesn't regulate the programming its franchisees show on their TVs, but all customer complaints are documented.

Here's a video of the exchange:
